5-Star Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa – Heritage Tree Christmas Lighting 2025

Curtain Lights

This project involved the design and installation of festive Christmas lighting for a nationally recognised Angsana Heritage Tree located at the entrance of Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa.

The tree stands approximately 27 metres tall with a 10.2-metre girth and is the largest Angsana tree in Singapore. It is listed by NParks as a Heritage Tree and is believed to have been planted in the 1880s.

StarLEDTechnology was engaged to deliver a high-impact festive lighting solution while ensuring the long-term health, protection, and conservation of the heritage tree. The project required careful technical planning due to the tree’s size, age, and protected status.

The lighting system was custom-designed to suit the canopy structure, utilising low-heat LED fixtures suitable for extended operation. Fixture placement and installation methods were tightly controlled to avoid stress to the bark, branches, and root zones.

All works were executed in compliance with heritage tree protection requirements, ensuring the installation was non-invasive, fully reversible, and environmentally responsible.

Throughout the festive period, the lighting system delivered reliable performance, consistent illumination, and minimal maintenance intervention. The final outcome enhanced the resort entrance experience while preserving the integrity of the heritage tree.

This project reflects StarLEDTechnology’s expertise in delivering complex lighting installations for sensitive environments, where technical reliability, safety, and environmental responsibility are critical.
