Solar Bollard Lights
YWCA Fort Canning is a historical social-enterprise hotel located within Fort Canning Park, one of Singapore’s most iconic green spaces. The hotel management engaged us to refresh the bollard lights along their rooftop walkway.
The existing wiring for that section was aging and showing signs of damage. Pulling new cables to the rooftop area would have been costly and disruptive, particularly given the heritage nature of the building and its surroundings.
Rather than recommending a cabled replacement, we proposed solar bollard lights instead.
Solar bollard lights require no cable installation and no excavation. Each unit charges through its built-in solar panel during the day and activates automatically at dusk. A built-in motion sensor brings the light to full brightness whenever someone walks past, conserving energy during quieter hours.
The result was a fully functional, eco-friendly rooftop walkway lighting system with zero cabling works, lower operating costs, and no disruption to hotel operations during installation.
