Woodleigh Mall had a lighting problem that only showed up on cloudy days.

The car park and common area lights were running on a timer that only switched on at night. On clear days, that worked fine. But when the sky turned grey in the middle of the afternoon, those spaces went dark.

The fix sounded simple. Add a light sensor that triggers the lights automatically when natural light drops below a set threshold.

But the real challenge was placement. Some sensors needed to trigger even on bright days when shadows darkened part of the common area. Others required mounting in locations only accessible by scissors lift.

We installed the sensors across these locations and conducted comprehensive after-installation testing. We waited for light levels to drop enough to trigger the sensors, watched the system respond, and confirmed the calibration was accurate before signing off.

Woodleigh Mall now has a lighting system that responds in any weather. Rainy days, overcast afternoons, cloudy skies. Not just after dark.
