Sculpture Inground Spot Light for Sir Stamford Raffles & Nathaniel Wallich

Sir Stamford Raffles and Nathaniel Wallich Sculptures Completed Fort Canning Park

This Project was raised with the sculpture and platform completed and ready to be installed, but the light was not yet installed.

The sculpture, meticulously crafted by a skilled sculptor, British artist and archaeometallurgist Andrew Lacey, pays homage to Sir Stamford Raffles and Nathaniel Wallich, underscoring their historic friendship during the 1800s. The display of their close friendship stems from the numerous letters exchange between them and their interest in botanical cultures. With these sculptures being placed in the space where their first botanical garden in Fort Canning, the artwork, titled “Scholars in Conversation: Sir Stamford Raffles and Dr Nathaniel Wallich”.

Project Installation

A notable challenge lies in ensuring that the sculptures maintain their allure even in low-light conditions. Given their bronze composition, the sculptures tend to appear darker, therefore emphasizing the importance of selecting the right lighting solution.

As an LED Lighting Supplier, our goal was to ensure a seamless integration of lighting that accentuates the sculpture without compromising its aesthetic appeal, we have opted for premier inground lights strategically positioned on the platform. Given that the platform construction is already finalized, incorporating these lights requires careful excavation to seamlessly embed them, therefore 8 new mini cement pillars was crafted out in order for the inground lights to be placed without additional complications.

Project Completion

We are pleased to announce the successful completion of our project, in which we provided all eight inground lights to Npark on time for their installation. These inground lights feature an asymmetrical beam angle and are tiltable up to 20 degrees, allowing for precise illumination. The result is a stunning visual effect, with the lights casting a mesmerizing glow on the sculptures, enhancing their beauty and prominence. This project highlights our commitment to quality and timely delivery, and we are proud of the exceptional outcome achieved.
